During your visit to the American Banjo Museum, interpretive exhibits as well as video and performance theaters will take you through the history of the banjo – from the humble African roots through its heyday during the Roaring 20s to its present voice in bluegrass, folk, and world music. As you stroll through elegant galleries on two floors you will find yourself immersed in the sights and sounds of the largest collection of banjos on public display anywhere in the world.

Tours

Museum tours are self-guided and require approximately one hour to experience. It is recommended that groups of 15 or more call ahead to make reservations.

Visitor's Policy and Code of Conduct

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for American Banjo Museum staff and guests, all children under the age of 16 must be accompanied and actively supervised by an adult while in the museum. Soliciting, weapons, smoking, and vaping are prohibited at the American Banjo Museum. Guests must not engage in behavior which is disruptive, unsafe, or destructive. Any violation of this policy and code of conduct will result in guests being asked to leave the museum

Accessibility for Visitors with Disabilities

The American Banjo Museum is accessible to individuals with disabilities. Galleries, restrooms, and public areas are accessible to visitors with limited mobility via a centrally located elevator. An entrance with ramp is located on the west side of the building. Many American Banjo Museum exhibits are accessible to individuals with visual, hearing or communicative disabilities. Please contact the museum two weeks prior to your visit to discuss the best method of effective communication during your visit.

Photography

Photography (including flash) is allowed in all areas of the museum.

Parking

For visits of two hours or less, on street metered parking is plentiful weekdays in Bricktown. Metered parking is free on Sundays and free everyday of the week for visitors with disabilities displaying an appropriate government issued placard or license plate. There is also a paid parking lot behind the museum for all day parking. See map for RV and motor coach parking.
