New Roy Clark Exhibit Officially Opened by the Legend Himself

Fans and supporters from across the country gathered at the American Banjo Museum on April 6th to meet the man himself, Roy Clark, during the opening of the museum’s newest exhibit, “America’s Super Picker: Roy Clark.”

Clark graciously took photos with everyone in attendance, shaking hands and answering questions with that trademark smile and those shining blue eyes.

“It was truly an honor to meet Roy Clark,” said Dustin Pyeatt, outreach and development manager, American Banjo Museum. “Like everyone my age, I grew up watching Roy Clark and Buck Owens every Saturday night on Hee Haw. He was how most of my generation became familiar with the banjo.”

The exhibit focuses on Oklahoma’s own country music and entertainment legend and features stage costumes and an instrument from Clark’s private collection. In addition to rare photos, “America’s Super Picker: Roy Clark” features an exclusive interview where Clark discusses his career and music with American Banjo Museum Executive Director Johnny Baier.

The evenings event also included drinks, hors d’oeuvres and live entertainment from American Banjo Hall of Fame inductee Tim Allen.

“American’s Super Picker: Roy Clark” is scheduled to run through March 2018.
